Hi everyone, I am having a Nokia Lumia 730 Dual Sim; and I recently bought a MacBook Air, but couldn't find a way to sync with my phone. After a bit of googling I found there was an app 'Windows Phone App for Mac', but I don't know why this app is currently unavailable. I downloaded the 'Nokia Photo Transfer App', to get somehow out of misery; just to sync the photos; but unfortunately it can't detect my phone. So, I am kinda helpless and can't sync anything with my phone. Any suggestions or any news when the Windows Phone App for Mac will be again available. (for the information my Mac is running on the latest OS X El Capitan, and my Lumia 730 on Windows Phone 8.1 Denim). Hi AF29, I appreciate the need to focus on delivery of some important things like Windows Mobile 10 for Windows Phones. Is there a time frame for 'Re-Focussing' back to supporting the large community of users who own Windows Phones and use the Windows Phone App for OSX for updating their Music Play Lists and importing their photos. Will it be coming back & when? If not, why not? Will there be a replacement of some kind? ![]() Google chrome for mac os. I see that it would be a betrayal of trust on the part of Microsoft if, after having weighed the pros & cons of switching to a Windows Phone (with support for all the 'Essentials' to keep us functioning, like Syncing our music) from iPhone or Android, that some of the infrastructure to support your customers is removed without notice. I have a lumia 930 and have just upgraded my 24' iMac to El Capitan today (hence my concerns). I have also trawled through the Mac App Store looking for 'Third Party Cloud Services' to substitute for the lack of Windows Phone App, but have had no luck. So until something happens to resurrect Windows Phone App, can you please enlighten me as to a) What Software I need to buy and b) how to use it to achieve the same outcomes. If you have an iPod or iPhone then syncing is NOT a problem, Apple via iTunes have not released or intend to release any app that allows you to use any device other than Apple You have reversed the responsibility onto Microsoft which is akin to say asking Microsoft to develop a BANKING APP which is as you can see is up to YOUR BANK to release. Like JAILBREAK APPS the Windows Phone App for Mac is NOT the official Apple app, there is an incentive to create them [ Apple could but won't release a Jailbreak App just a point I make] Only when Apple is the HOST do you get this restriction in movement / syncing. Google to Windows, Windows to Google, NO issues, even Google & Window to Apple are 'hassle free' in comparison The fact that Mac / iPads sync without issue and other phones do not is Apple have not created the app 15:15 @ David Prophet 'Only when Apple is the HOST do you get this restriction in movement / syncing. And there I was thinking that Applications for Apple and other operating systems were designed and built by the Application vendors. Applications are developed by Third Party suppliers, for example Banking applications, and then implemented on various operating systems as the vendors see fit. Since Apple has the majority share then applications are often released for Apple products initially then depending on take-up/revenue developed for other operating systems.
